Rep. Betty McCollum, who has represented Minnesota’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress since 2001, recently shared updates on local development and national politics through a series of posts on her official X (formerly Twitter) account.

On November 9, 2025, McCollum announced the completion of renovations at a major community facility: "Woodbury Central Park is now open! Renovations include a nearly 24,000 square foot addition and improving indoor park accessibility, comfort, and amenities."

Turning to federal policy issues the following day, she expressed her opposition to legislation moving through the Senate. On November 10, McCollum wrote: "I strongly oppose the Senate’s government funding bill. It does nothing to address Republicans' health care and hunger crises, and it fails to stop Trump from continuing to illegally and unconstitutionally misuse congressionally appropriated funds. It's a bad deal for Americans."

Later that same day, McCollum criticized former President Donald Trump in another post: "Donald Trump’s corruption knows no limits. He has weaponized the Department of Justice to attack his perceived enemies while he protects his criminal allies."

McCollum has served in Congress since replacing Bruce Vento in 2001 after representing her district in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1993 until her election to federal office. Born in Minneapolis in 1954 and currently residing in Saint Paul, McCollum earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Catherine University in 1987.
