City of Saint Paul issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.
Today, Mayor Melvin Carter announced the appointment of Chief Equity Officer Toni Newborn to lead the City of Saint Paul’s Human Resources Department as outgoing department director Andrea Turner transitions to serve as Vice President of Human Resources and Inclusion at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
“Over the course of my administration, Andrea Turner’s leadership has been vital as we’ve navigated many workforce needs,” said Mayor Melvin Carter. “We are grateful for her service to Saint Paul, and look forward to her continued impact on our community in her new role.”
“Toni Newborn has helped embed a lens of equity across every city department, and in how we serve our community,” said Mayor Melvin Carter. “Her new role will further expand this critical work as we continue moving forward together through these uncertain times.”
