Representative Betty McCollum, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota’s 4th district since 2001, has recently posted several messages on her official Twitter account highlighting cultural events and expressing opinions on national institutions.

Two days later, on August 16, she acknowledged a local cultural event: "Today the India Association of Minnesota is holding their annual IndiaFest commemorating Indian Independence Day and providing attendees a chance to 'Experience India in a Day'. To learn more about the rich culture and history of India."
On August 17, McCollum promoted another community festival: "The annual Japanese Obon Festival is today at Como Park, which brings family-friendly activities and an opportunity to experience the rich culture and history of Japan. Learn more here:"
