Rep. Betty McCollum, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota’s 4th district since 2001, expressed her concerns and support for various issues through a series of tweets on February 3, 2025.

In one tweet, McCollum accused President Trump of allowing Elon Musk to engage in unauthorized activities involving U.S. government agencies. She stated, "President Trump is allowing unelected billionaire Elon Musk to illegally raid U.S. government agencies and seize Americans’ classified information from @USTreasury. These are major attacks on our rights and our privacy."

Later that day, McCollum shared her experiences at Black Entrepreneurs Day at the State Capitol. She wrote about the importance of black business owners in the economy: "It's been great hearing from business owners about their issues and priorities today during Black Entrepreneurs Day at the State Capitol. Black business owners play a key role in creating jobs, building wealth, and growing our economy. I'm proud to support their work."

In another tweet posted later that evening, McCollum reiterated her opposition to actions by President Trump and Elon Musk that she believes infringe upon American rights and national security: "I strongly oppose President Trump and Elon Musk's illegal attacks on Americans' rights, our privacy, and our national security."
