On January 20, 2025, Rep. McCollum expressed her support for President Biden's decision to commute Leonard Peltier's sentence. She stated, "After decades of advocacy from Tribal leaders, I commend President Biden for acting with compassion to commute the sentence of Leonard Peltier. We must acknowledge the injustice that he and many other Native Americans have experienced in our legal system."

Later that day, she paid tribute to Cecile Richards, a prominent advocate for reproductive freedom who had recently passed away. In another post made at 21:00 UTC on the same day, Rep. McCollum reminded constituents about international travel preparations by stating: "Remember to check your passport expiration date if you plan to travel internationally. Learn how to apply or renew on the @StateDept website."
