Rep. Betty McCollum addresses local issues and national remembrance through social media

Rep. Betty McCollum, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota's 4th district, has shared several messages through her social media platform. These posts reflect her concerns and engagements with both national remembrance and local community issues.

On December 4, 2024, Rep. McCollum expressed her condolences regarding a tragic incident involving targeted violence. She stated, "Shocked by this brutal and horrific act of targeted violence. My heart goes out to the family, loved ones, and colleagues of Brian Thompson."

Two days later, on December 6, 2024, she informed the public about upcoming traffic disruptions in Saint Paul due to road closures on I-94. She advised residents to plan accordingly: "Plan ahead this weekend! I-94 will be closed in both directions between Interstate 35E and Highway 61 in Saint Paul Friday Dec 6th 10 PM until Monday Dec 9th 5 AM." On December 7, 2024, Rep. McCollum commemorated Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day by honoring those who lost their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor. She reflected on this historical event stating: "83 years ago today, the United States was attacked at Pearl Harbor...we honor the 2,403 lives lost in the attack and acknowledge the sacrifices of those who defended our nation during WWII."
