Saint Paul Parks and Recreation issued the following announcement on March 27
While Saint Paul Parks and Recreation public buildings are currently closed in response to COVID-19, our parks and outdoor open spaces remain open for public use. We encourage all park users to follow these recommendations:
- Refrain from using parks or trails if you are sick or are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath. Learn more about the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 here: https://www.cdc.gov/…/2019-n…/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html
- Refrain from using parks or trails if you are at a higher risk of illness. Learn who is high risk here: https://www.cdc.gov/…/specific…/high-risk-complications.html
- Observe CDC’s minimum recommended social distancing of 6 feet from other individuals at all times. If this is not possible, find an alternate location or depart that space.
- Follow CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene before, during, and after use of parks or trails. This includes:
- Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Follow CDC guidance on the recommended size of social gatherings including outdoor picnicking, pick-up sports and other group hangouts, and maintain a 6 foot distance at all times. The CDC recommends avoiding gatherings of 10 or more people.
