U.S. Representative Betty McCollum, who serves Minnesota’s 4th district and has held her congressional seat since 2001, posted a series of updates on her social media accounts highlighting local community initiatives and national observances.

On November 1, McCollum announced a call for public input regarding the naming of a new park in Saint Paul. She wrote, "Saint Paul Parks and Recreation is looking for a new name for the upcoming 5-acre park planned at the Heights. Now through November 15th, community members can submit their creative suggestions. Read more below! https://t.co/rq3LzahGTj" (posted November 1, 2025).

Later that day, she acknowledged Native American Heritage Month by expressing solidarity with Indigenous communities across the country. McCollum stated, "I'm proud to join Indigenous communities across the United States in celebrating Native American Heritage Month. Throughout my time in Congress, I've been honored to stand with tribal leaders to ensure the U.S. upholds its treaties and responsibilities." (posted November 1, 2025).

On November 2, she reminded constituents about the upcoming local elections and encouraged voter participation: "Local elections are less than 48 hours away! Democracy works best when everyone’s voice is heard. No matter where you live or who you support, be sure to go out and vote. Find your polling location at https://t.co/s8qBZdP2Ef." (posted November 2, 2025).

McCollum’s recent messages reflect ongoing engagement with both local issues—such as civic participation and community development—and broader national themes like honoring Indigenous heritage. McCollum was born in Minneapolis in 1954 and resides in Saint Paul.

She began her political career in the Minnesota House of Representatives before being elected to Congress.

She holds a BA from St. Catherine University.
