Rep. Betty McCollum shares community events and infrastructure updates for Minnesota’s Fourth District

Rep. Betty McCollum, U.S. Congresswoman representing Minnesota’s 4th district since 2001, recently posted updates on community events and infrastructure in her constituency through a series of social media posts.

On October 10, 2025, McCollum highlighted an arts event in the city, stating: "Saint Paul Art Crawl fall exhibits are open now through the weekend, bringing communities together to showcase local artists at 25+ locations across the city. https://t.co/laEN79c0Fd".

The following day, she issued a transportation update regarding major highway closures for bridge replacement work: "Highway closure alert! I-94 westbound will be closed Friday 10 PM – Monday 5 AM between I-35E and Dale St. I-94 Eastbound will be closed from Hwy 280 to University Ave E.  Workers will began replacing John Ireland Boulevard Bridge. The bridge will be closed until August 2026. https://t.co/pNwn6JXtF1" (posted October 11, 2025).

Later that day, McCollum drew attention to a seasonal celebration: "Want a sure sign of pumpkin season? The Stillwater Harvest Fest returns this weekend to the St. Croix River with a 100-yard pumpkin race down the river, along with a 100-foot pumpkin drop, live music, and other festivities. McCollum has represented Minnesota’s 4th District in Congress since succeeding Bruce Vento in 2001 and previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1993 to 2001. Born in Minneapolis in 1954 and currently residing in Saint Paul, she graduated from St. Catherine University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987.
