Rep. Betty McCollum, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota's 4th district, has shared several important messages on her social media platform. Elected in 2001, McCollum took over from Bruce Vento, and her long-standing commitment to public service and various pertinent causes is evident from her recent posts.

On April 21, 2025, McCollum expressed her respect for Pope Francis, highlighting his exemplary leadership. She stated, "Pope Francis will be remembered for leading by example. By showing compassion for all of God’s children, he challenged the entire world — and its leaders in particular — to be compassionate toward others." This reflects her appreciation for global leaders who prioritize compassion in their leadership.

Later that day, McCollum announced her participation in an Earth Day discussion focused on environmental protection. Betty McCollum, aged 68 and born in Minneapolis, graduated from St. Catherine University in 1987. She brings extensive experience from her time in the Minnesota House of Representatives and currently resides in Saint Paul.
