Betty McCollum, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota's 4th district, has been vocal on several key issues through her recent social media posts. Her statements reflect her stance on healthcare and military leadership changes under the current administration.

On February 21, 2025, McCollum expressed concern over Republican actions regarding Medicaid. She stated: "Republicans in Washington are coming for Medicaid. Access to health care is essential. I will never stop fighting to protect this lifeline for seniors, children, and families."

The following day, February 22, 2025, she addressed the dismissal of General Charles Q. Brown Jr., criticizing President Trump's decision: "General Charles Q. Brown Jr. has honorably served our nation for over forty years. I am appalled by President Trump’s decision to fire him from his position as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff."

In another post on the same day, McCollum defended Admiral Franchetti after her removal by President Trump: "President Trump has fired her without cause. In Admiral Franchetti, I see only hard work, dedication, and the experience needed to serve as the Chief of Naval Operations."
