On February 3, 2025, Rep. McCollum commented on the impending implementation of a 25% tariff on Canadian goods by former President Trump. She highlighted that this measure would lead to increased costs for American families across several sectors including energy, automotive parts, metals, baked goods, and meat. On February 4, McCollum criticized Trump's failure to fulfill his campaign promise of reducing prices immediately upon taking office.
