Later that day, McCollum met with superintendents and mayors from her district to discuss local priorities. She highlighted her commitment to ensuring federal tax dollars support schools and infrastructure projects in Minnesota. "Today I met with #MN04 superintendents and mayors about their priorities."
In another tweet on the same day, McCollum criticized President Trump's temporary pause of what she called an "illegal and unconstitutional shutdown" of the federal government. She stated that this action resulted in confusion and chaos among Americans. She also mentioned "Project 2025," suggesting it is being followed by the White House as an instruction manual.
