Removal

City Of St. Paul issued the following announcement on Jan. 15.

Saint Paul Public Works will conduct citywide residential plow operations on January 17-20, 2023 between 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day, weather permitting. This is NOT a Snow Emergency.

Residents are asked to move all vehicles off residential streets according to a four-day schedule. Normal parking rules will apply on all arterial (or main) streets throughout Saint Paul.

• Tuesday, January 17 — North side (odd-numbered side) of east-west residential streets• Wednesday, January 18 — South side (even-numbered side) of east-west residential streets• Thursday, January 19 — East side (even-numbered side) of north-south residential streets• Friday, January 20 — West side (odd-numbered side) of north-south residential streets

“This citywide residential plowing effort is extremely critical to keep Saint Paul’s side streets safe and passible as we try to widen and clean up our streets,” said Sean Kershaw, Director of Saint Paul Public Works. “It is only mid-January and we are getting close to season average snowfall totals. There is a lot of winter still to come.”

“We know on-street parking is a necessity for our residents, businesses, and visitors in Saint Paul,” Kershaw continued. “We need everyone’s help to move their cars according to this special schedule. Everyone doing their part will allow our crews to plow to the curb and help us hold off on the need for a future one-sided parking ban.”

On January 4, 2023, Saint Paul declared its fourth snow emergency of the season when a two-day snowstorm dropped more than a foot of snow in Saint Paul. It was the fourth-biggest January snowfall on record.

Ticketing and Towing Operations are in Effect

Vehicles that have been parked on the streets for more than 48 hours may be ticketed and towed by the Saint Paul Police Department. Residents can report vehicles that have not moved in many days to the Public Works ticketing office at 651-266-9800, select option 2, or online at www.stpaul.gov/snowticketing. When reporting a vehicle, please include the address location and make and model of the vehicle.
