Minnesota Department Of Corrections recently issued the following announcement.
MCF-Shakopee recently had a special visitor as part of a staff wellness event. The event, titled “Donuts with Duncan" provided staff the opportunity to interact with Duncan, a 65-pound English Doodle and certified therapy dog. Duncan is owned by Shakopee CPT AnnMarie, and the two are a registered animal therapy team. Staff were encouraged to take time to “paws" and enjoy a break from their normal work routine. Treats (including Dunkin Donuts!) were available for staff as well.
Even if one was not a dog person, folks still stopped by for a treat and conversation. Highlights of the day included playing fetch, tug-of-war, and giving belly rubs. The event was very popular, and Duncan had many repeat visitors throughout the day. Staff provided a lot of positive feedback, and staff could be heard saying, “Wow, that just made my day!" throughout the day.
