SAINT PAUL PARKS AND RECREATION: Ice Rink Update As Of December 20, 2020

Icepark

Saint Paul Parks and Recreation issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.

The weather is finally beginning to cooperate for rink operations and staff and volunteers have begun flooding our ice rinks. Our best estimate for refrigerated rink openings is around Dec. 31 with general rinks likely skatable in the first couple weeks of January, weather depending.

The current public health guidance requires a 12 foot distance between skaters who are not part of the same household. Your cooperation in adhering to this guidance is appreciated so we can keep our rinks open and keep each other safe. Warming houses will not be available when the rinks open. Additional outdoor benches will be available for changing skates and taking breaks.

Due to budget and staffing considerations, ice rink maintenance at the following 8 locations will be eliminated this season: Aldine, Battle Creek, Griggs, Hayden Heights, Hazel Park, Linwood, Nathan Hale, and Northwest Como.
