SAINT PAUL PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Statement on Mask Mandate

Maskstudent

Saint Paul Public Schools issued the following announcement on July 23.

Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) supports the Governor’s Executive Order 20-81 relating to wearing masks as a proven way to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are thoughtfully studying the requirements and the exemptions of this Executive Order that apply to public education, our students and staff. We are working to ensure equitable implementation of this face covering requirement in all of our buildings.

We recognize there are specific instances when wearing a cloth face covering may not be feasible. In these instances, adaptations and alternatives will be considered whenever possible. SPPS continues planning for safe, effective learning for all of our students when the new school year begins on Sept. 8. That includes providing appropriate face coverings as required in this new Executive Order. We are confident in both our existing supply levels as well as our supply chains to ensure we have adequate face coverings for everyone who is or may be in our buildings.
