House Of Hope Presbyterian Church issued the following announcement on June 25.
Mahatma Gandhi once said, "The enemy is fear. We think it is hate; but, it is really fear." Fear is a spiritual problem. Spiritual work is lifelong work. Daily work. As disciples of the triune God, we have been practicing what Jesus taught for just a time as this.
We each have a part in moving the issue of equality forward. New legislation will come, changes in policing will come, but there are structural pieces, language usage, and norms each of us is invited to wrestle with from within and address in conversation with friends and colleagues. Friends, let us be about this work.
