Saint Paul Public Schools issued the following announcement on Sept. 20.
Students arriving at E-STEM Middle School were captivated by the building’s modern and open design as they walked through the doors on the first day of school. Situated on the Saint Paul-Woodbury border, E-STEM offers students opportunities to focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math – all through environmental education. A nearby pond and hiking trail serve as an extension of the classroom where students can put what they learn into practice. E-STEM staff use technology to help students communicate with math as the language, and science and engineering as the process for developing critical thinking skills. For the 2019-20 school year, the school will serve grade 6 with expansion to grades 7 and 8 in subsequent years.
