St. Thomas women’s tennis edged by Valparaiso in close road match

St. Thomas women’s tennis team lost a close match to Valparaiso, falling 4-3 in Valparaiso, Indiana. The Beacons secured the doubles point after winning two out of three matches. Emilia Koreseth and Caroline Lindahl defeated Lacey Tanner and Alexandra Popa 6-4, while Moira Silva and Brynn Steven won against Lily Olson and Ingrid Forsberg by the same score. Andrea Delgado and Madi Rogers earned a win for St. Thomas in doubles, beating Anna Siderenko and Alize Yarwood 6-3.

In singles play, Valparaiso’s Moira Silva beat Emilia Koreseth 6-2, 6-3. Caroline Lindahl overcame Alexandra Popa with scores of 6-2, 7-5. St. Thomas picked up points from Lacey Tanner, who defeated Anna Siderenko 6-3, 6-3; Lily Olson, who won over Brynn Steven 6-2, 6-2; and Andrea Delgado, who bested Alize Yarwood 6-2, 7-5. Else Vander Stichlele also contributed to Valparaiso’s total by defeating Jolene Fernandex 6-4, 7-5.

The Tommies finished with three singles victories but could not overcome losing the doubles point.
