On March 16, 2025, McCollum expressed her sorrow over the passing of Nita Lowey, a former colleague and trailblazer in the House Appropriations Committee. She tweeted: “I’m deeply saddened by the passing of my friend and former colleague Nita Lowey, a trailblazer who was the first woman to lead the House Appropriations Committee.” McCollum highlighted their collaborative efforts on issues such as maternal child health and girls’ education.

In another tweet dated March 17, 2025, she invited constituents to participate in an upcoming virtual town hall. McCollum stated: “Please join me for a virtual town hall on Wednesday night at 6:30pm on Facebook and Instagram Live!” The session will cover budget discussions and provide an opportunity for questions from constituents.

Later that day, McCollum congratulated Todd Hurley for his recognition in the Saint Paul St. Patrick’s Day parade. She wrote: “Congratulations to Todd Hurley on being named Mr. Pat of the 2025 Saint Paul St. Patrick’s Day parade!” She extended well wishes for those celebrating in Minnesota.
