Rep. Betty McCollum, U.S. Congresswoman representing Minnesota’s 4th district since 2001, has recently used her social media platform to highlight community efforts and local programs in Minnesota.
On February 14, 2026, McCollum posted about her visit to a local organization: “For the past two months, we have seen countless examples of Minnesotans rising to the moment to protect and support each other. Today, I visited the Hmong American Partnership to express my deep gratitude to the staff and volunteers assembling and delivering boxes of essential”.
Later that day, she informed residents about a state assistance program: “Minnesota’s Energy Assistance Program is accepting applicants for winter energy assistance through May 31st. Homeowners and renters both qualify and are eligible based on household size and income.”
On February 15, McCollum referenced her background as a former Girl Scout and Troop Leader in another post: “As a former Girl Scout and Troop Leader, I’m glad to see safety is being prioritized during Girl Scout Cookie season as we continue to navigate these uncertain times. Now through March 29th, Girl Scout River Valleys Cookie program will be digital.”
McCollum has represented Minnesota’s 4th District in Congress since succeeding Bruce Vento in 2001. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1993 to 2001. Born in Minneapolis in 1954, she currently resides in Saint Paul. She earned her BA from St. Catherine University in 1987.
