On January 28, 2025, Rep. McCollum criticized recent executive orders and memos issued by Trump, stating that they were unconstitutional and detrimental to national security. In another tweet posted on the same day, McCollum accused Trump of aspiring to dictatorship from his first day in office. She argued that his administration’s actions were illegal and posed threats to Americans’ economic, personal, and national security. “President Trump told the American people that he wanted to be a dictator on day one.”
On January 29, 2025, McCollum praised General Mark Milley for his service to the United States over four decades. She criticized Secretary Hegseth for what she described as petty actions aimed at settling personal scores for President Trump instead of serving any official purpose. “General Mark Milley admirably served the United States and the U.S. Army for 43 years.”
