Rep. Betty McCollum, who represents Minnesota’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on her official X account addressing both community well-wishes and national policy concerns.

On October 31, 2025, McCollum extended holiday greetings to her constituents, writing: “Happy Halloween! Wishing all Minnesotans a safe and spooky day full of treats and good times with family, friends, and neighbors.”

Later that same day, she commented on recent developments regarding federal spending for hunger relief programs: “A major win for Americans — but it shouldn’t have taken a court order to ensure that the White House spends congressionally-appropriated funds to ensure Americans don’t go hungry.” The post referenced a judicial decision compelling the executive branch to allocate funds approved by Congress for anti-hunger initiatives.

The previous evening, on October 30, 2025, McCollum shared another post via her social media account: https://t.co/faPVXkMcHY

Born in Minneapolis in 1954 and currently residing in Saint Paul, McCollum graduated from St. Catherine University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987.
