Minnesota United has signed defender Kyle Duncan to a one-year contract that runs through December 2026, with an option for the club to extend the deal until June 2027.
“Kyle brings MLS experience and a strong understanding of what it takes to compete in this league. He is a reliable defender who will strengthen our back line and elevate the level of competition within the group. We’re pleased to welcome Kyle to Minnesota,” said MNUFC Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Khaled El-Ahmad.

I know that’s the kind of person I want to be and I want to be someone who is uplifting,” said defender Kyle Duncan. “No matter what I may be facing in life, I want to bring as much positivity and encouragement as I possibly can to this club, the fans, and my teammates.”
Duncan, who is 28 years old, joins Minnesota after eight seasons with Red Bull New York. During his time there, he played in 166 matches across all competitions, starting 132 times. He contributed 17 assists and scored six goals while logging nearly 12,500 minutes on the field. He was part of the team that won the MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2018 and reached the Eastern Conference title during the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs.
Duncan started his career at Red Bull New York Academy before signing his first professional contract with Valenciennes U19 in France. He returned to Major League Soccer with Red Bull New York in 2018 after playing in France.
On the international stage, Duncan recently represented Jamaica, earning his first call-up for their national team during the September 2025 FIFA World Cup Qualifier matches. Previously, he had appearances with United States youth teams (U18, U20) and also received senior team call-ups from 2015 through 2020.
The transaction details confirm Minnesota United has added Duncan under a one-year contract with an option for an additional half season.
