Representative Ron Kresha of Little Falls, together with Representative Joe Schomacker of Luverne, has announced the official recognition of August 19th as Minnesota Aviation Day. The announcement follows several months of planning and highlights the significance of aviation to the state’s economy and communities.

“Minnesota’s airports, general aviation, and aviation companies contribute over $19 billion to the state economy,” said Rep. Kresha. “This robust industry continues offering economic growth to communities and exciting, competitive career opportunities for our next generation of aviators. This proclamation recognizes August 19th as Minnesota Aviation Day and is a commitment to growth and opportunity for Minnesota Aviation.”

Minnesota supports hundreds of public-use airports along with numerous aviation businesses and training programs designed for pilots, mechanics, and other industry professionals. The newly designated day aims to acknowledge these contributions by celebrating aviation’s impact on local economies and workforce development.

With this proclamation, August 19th will serve as an annual observance in 2025 to recognize how aviation supports economic activity across Minnesota.
